Spectacular landscapes, majestic wildlife and a rich cultural tapestry offer unlimited possibilities for great cell phone images of Eastern Cape, South Africa.

My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is a handy bit of electronic hardware that I’ve carried almost everywhere with me since Vilis and I arrived in South Africa on June 23. I’ve snapped pics with its camera while out running, hiking, travelling or walking around town and am very pleased with the results. The camera is easy to use and has seven modes: auto, rear-cam selfie, selective focus, panorama, slow motion and fast motion, plus options for flash, HDR on/off and video recording. Best of all, the Galaxy Note 4 takes excellent, high resolution photos.

I still use my Canon Powershot digital camera, particulary for zooming in on birds and wildlife, but the Galaxy Note 4 offers a wider field of view that is perfect for landscape and other wide-screen shots. I now regularly take both cameras with me and choose the best camera to suit the subject material. Having a cellular option has definitely enabled me to capture some great cell phone images of Eastern Cape that I wouldn’t otherwise have snagged.

Today’s post is a collection of my best cell phone photos taken in Eastern Cape to date. (Tap on photos to enlarge.)
